Bridal emergency kit

A bridal emergency kit for the bride on her wedding day is a must! The kit consists of a bag with wedding day necessities and emergency items that you might need just in case.  We always get asked from the brides what to bring in terms of makeup on the bride’s wedding day. However, makeup items are just a few of many other items that you might need. If you are a bride, this might be the last thing on your mind at the moment with many other things to organise , so it might be a good idea to delegate this job to one of your bridesmaids to do.  Here are some of the items that you can fill in your bag.

MAKEUP/GROOMING

  • Bobby pins
  • Brush/comb
  • Small can of hairspray
  • Cotton buds
  • Deodorant
  • Blush
  • Face powder
  • Lipstick/Lipgloss
  • Handcream
  • Tissues
  • Blotting paper
  • Makeup remover
  • Dental floss
  • Tweezer
  • Handheld mirror
  • Nail polish and remover
  • Nail file
  • Lint roller
  • Hand sanitiser

HEALTH

  • Aspirin
  • Pads/tampons
  • Eye drops for dry eyes
  • First aid kit

ATTIRE

  • Safety pins and straight pins (for corsages and dress emergencies)
  • Stain removing aids (stain remover pen)
  • Earring backings(extras)
  • Panthyhose(extra)
  • Clear nail polish for any runs in pantyhose
  • Double sided holywood fashion tape
  • Gel inserts for heels
  • White or silver flat ballet shoes (when your feet hurts by the end of the night)

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Straws (to sip from you drink bottles so you don’t get lipstick mess)
  • Sewing kits(with scissors). Thread to match bridesmaids’ dresses
  • Superglue (just in case your heels come off)
  • Umbrellas (colourful ones)
  • Phone charger

You will probably have most of the things on the list at home. It might look like a long list ,but just in case you need it on the day, you won’t have to be running around asking everyone if they have it.

I might be nice enough to put together a ‘starter kit’ for a lucky winner in my next post. So stay tune for details and photos! 🙂

Wedding – Sue

Congratulations to today’s beautiful bride Sue!

All the products that I use are suitable for sensitive skin. Sue’s skin is very sensitive and she was a bit apprehensive at first to have makeup put on her at the trial. After the trial she was so happy with all the products that I used on her as none of the products irritated her skin. She also mentioned that her skin actually felt better!

Sue wanted half down with curls and braids on both sides. I think this style suits her perfectly!!

Wedding-Fahima

***Makeup only

It’s always nice to have clients requesting for our services on more than one occassion. So when I received an email to ask if I could do makeup for her mother again and the daughter in law this time, I was more than thrilled!

Fahima has a flawless complexion and naturally long eyelashes. I applied falsies  to open up her eyes even more. Her eyeshadows were shades of brown/burgundy/pink .

Awal(mother in law) doesn’t wear makeup much. I accentuated her eyes with natural toned eyeshadow and eyeliner.

Bridal Expo Aug 2014

It’s that time again ! Australian Wedding and Honeymoon Expo at Carlton Gardens. We got a bigger stand this time so there’s much more space for us when we do trials. Once again we were asked to be the official hairstylist for the models. We are so thrilled that the organisers loved our work and have chosen us repeatedly.  It was lovely meeting and chatting with all the friendly brides . Excited to do makeup and hair for the ladies that have booked with us for their weddings! Here are a few hairstyle photos out of many that were done. And also our pretty stand! 😉

Wedding – Ivy

Woke up at 4am this morning to get to Ivy’s place by 5.30am!On the way to her place  , I was greeted by the supermoon!.. super huge and round. Unfortunately I couldn’t stop to take a photo as I was travelling via the freeway. Made my morning!

Ivy wanted the same look that I did for her at her trial last week. Her hair was an updo but this time was placed higher than last week’s style as I had to fit the hair into the hat.

Congratulations Ivy and wishing you all the best ! It was a pleasure getting you ready ! 🙂

Pre wedding – Ivy

Ivy wanted an updo and ‘she is in love with braids’ so I braided one side of her hair, twisted the hair at the back and pinned them into sections for a slightly messy bun. Next week will be Ivy’s actual wedding day and i’m so excited to be getting her ready!  She will be wearing her traditional Vietnamese costume which is also known as Ao Dai. Post to come next week so stay tuned!

Pre wedding makeup and hair- Phelicia

I did Phelicia’s makeup and hair a few months back for her pre-wedding photoshoot . The beautiful photos were sent by the very talented photographer Denise Ng from Memento Images.

Phelicia likes dark smokey eyes so i applied a combination of bronzey/brown/charcoal eyeshadow on her, all nicely blended out so there’s no harsh lines. Her hair is a soft lowdo with some volume on top.

Wedding – Mavis

Congratulations on your wedding Mavis! She sent through some photos of her wedding taken at the church ceremony. It was very sweet to have received this message from Mavis

“You did an amazing job! Everyone was praising my hair and makeup”

Mavis wanted loose curls on one side for a romantic look which complemented her amazing lace with crystals wedding gown. Makeup was a natural, pretty look.

Wedding- Hair and makeup

So one of my dear friend Kathleen referred us to her hubby’s cousin (Kheng), whose son was getting married. It was last minute but Ange and I were thrilled to be able to help with the makeup and hair for her daughters Jess, Sarah and her mum.  Kheng’s sis wanted makeup only. It was their first wedding in the family , so the whole family was super excited about it! Jess and Sarah were the MC’s for the reception.

I gave Sarah some loose curls to boost the volume in her hair. Her eyeshadow was a lovely burgundy tone with a deeper red lipstick. Jess wanted a unstructured side curls up on the side with volume on top. She also wanted smokey eyes  .Her mum and sister wanted a natural look so we applied a coverage which was enough to last the whole day but not look caked on. Very gorgeous family I must say!
